On the way home from her swimming lessons tonight, Gretchen told me that when she's 20, she'd like to own a cat hotel and be a Cat Governess. She said it would be like paradise and I'm like 400% in favour of her choice.
I love when she talks about her future. I love imagining her doing something that makes her really, really freakin' happy every single day. I want her to choose a path in her life that makes her feel proud and excited to wake up each morning.
I want her life to be filled with moments that make her as happy as hugging a cat makes her because I'm telling you when she's in the presence of a cat, she's pretty much always on the verge of it's-so-cute-I-could-cry tears.
I love that she loves SO MUCH.
And I love that anytime she talks about what career she might have later in life, they are ALWAYS centered around helping people or animals.
She's empathetic, understanding, and sometimes I see a much older person staring back at me through her eyes.
I'm proud of her. And I can't wait to see her become the most badass Cat Governess the world has ever seen.
PS. I'm dying over these snapshots from 2011. OH. MY. HEART. What she ever really so small?
PPS. We're probably getting a cat (ortwoifIcanhelpit) this winter. But don't say anything. This is going to be one hell of a surprise. #meow
