I'm sitting here on a late summer Sunday, thinking it's impossible that we're just a few weeks from September. To assure myself that yes, summer did actually happen, I spent some time looking back through pictures and smiling... grateful for the summer that was and the things we did.
Even if it seems like time has been whizzing by.
Here are a few snapshots from summer 2016. The next adventure awaits.
Ice cream picnics.
My little swimmer came a long way this summer. After two years of summer camp, she was able to pass the swim test and her smile couldn't have been bigger when she ran to tell me at pick-up. BEAMING. #proudmama
Book dates in the park sometimes turned into naps.
Iced coffee because of course.
Many days included radler.
Gretchen is always writing, reading, or drawing. She's inquisitive and brilliant.
Many days were spent at our "outdoor office" aka our trailer. Rich and I did a lot of work and welcomed new clients from this very table.
These two have been friends since birth. Even when they go months without seeing each other, it's like they've never been apart.
We ate poutine. (Looks like a dog's breakfast, tastes like HEAVEN.)
I found a kindred spirit in the parking lot at Gretchen's yoga lessons. I've still never met the person who drives this car but I wanna be friends.
That time we said goodbye to Rich before his trip to France and Belgium where he was helping to shoot for a WWI doc. I'm still jealous, of course. ;)
Trips to Millennium Park in Peterborough -- our hometown.
Winston Hendrix. He's our 10-year-old Boston Terrier and I often refer to him as my first born.
We met lots of shelter pets as we prep for our new web show launch on September 1st, include these sweet, red-faced tabby.
I feel like she's grown at least 6" this summer. She's taller every morning.
Looking forward to savouring the last few weeks of summer and whatever waits for us this fall. There are so many things on the cusp of change right now. Updates to come.
Peace out, mamas.
